Jakarta – MCN.com – The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between PT Nusakawan Semesta Raya (Nuswantara) and PT Smexindo Garuda Internasional on the agarwood tree trade and plantation program in Bahrain, was held at Teras Mangga, Jakarta, Saturday (13/7/2024). This collaboration also involves Timur Indonesia Bersatu (TIB).
President Director of Smexindo Garuda Internasional, Rika Aryuna, on that occasion welcomed the collaboration. Rika Aryuna as the representative of KHK Holding owned by Sheik Khalid bin Hamad Alkhalifa, Putra King Bahrain for the ASEAN Region representative, said that efforts to market Indonesian products in the Middle East region were increasingly well received by countries in the region, including Bahrain.
Regarding the planting and trading of agarwood trees in Bahrain, Rika said that the collaboration with Timur Indonesia Bersatu was strategic, because in Indonesia, Papua is an area where many agarwood trees grow naturally.
Agarwood in Indonesia grows naturally in the forests of Papua, with the best quality in the world. Meanwhile, currently more agarwood that is a commodity on the international market is cultivated agarwood, which is predominantly developed in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and China.
